I first read about him in an interview that he gave in Kathimerini (a greek newspaper), when in Athens last year. I really loved his vision, his passion and that he was so young and self made. He is the guy that until he got married he lived in a boat. Also the thing that i really loved was that when his company started to grow very fast he left for one and half year in order to get married and think better where he belongs, and if this matter is still the best for his life, because now it wasn’t just a simple idea but a lot of people and money on the line.
You probably know his story but it is a favourite one. He travelled to Argentina where he met some volunteers that they were giving shoes to children. This action inspired him so much that he started his own for-profit initiative where he promised to give away one pair of shoes for each pair that was sold by his company. The idea of “one for one” was an overnight success in USA and soon spread all over the world. Today the company expanded it’s mission and sells coffee, sunglasses, bags and many more things to come and provides shoes, water, medical care for sight among others.
